Board, Litigation
Joanna practises in the area of commercial litigation. She appears before both trial and appellate courts in Ontario. Her litigation practice is varied and she has considerable experience with commercial landlord and tenant matters including lease default remedies, collections, injunctions, lease interpretations and construction liens. Joanna’s emphasis is on resolving landlord-tenant disputes in the most efficient manner possible.
Joanna has been a guest speaker for Queen’s Law School Civil Procedure course and a speaker at industry conferences. She has written articles in the area of commercial leasing litigation and has been quoted in legal publications such as Law Times (see article here). Joanna is a member of the Advocate's Society and Toronto Commercial Real Estate Women’s Network (TCREW).
Joanna joined Daoust Vukovich LLP after her call to the bar in 2001. She
has an LL.B. from Osgoode Hall Law School and articled with a civil
litigation firm in Toronto. She received her Bachelor of Arts (Honours)
from the University of Western Ontario and completed a year of her
studies at L'Universite de Nice, Sophia Antipolis in France. Throughout
the pursuit of her undergraduate and law degrees, Joanna was placed on
the Dean's List and the recipient of many awards.
