Jeanne practises exclusively in the area of commercial leasing on behalf of both landlords and tenants in retail, office and industrial properties, including sale/leaseback arrangements. She is listed by Lexpert, the national lawyer rating service, as a practitioner consistently recommended in the area of Property Leasing. She is also listed in The Best Lawyers in Canada, a U.S. based national lawyer rating service.
Since joining Daoust Vukovich LLP as a partner in 1996, Jeanne has provided
the firm with leadership in volume leasing for major developers, and in
management and coordination of major projects, including due diligence
lease reviews. Jeanne has a thorough knowledge of the business
exigencies associated with completing lease documentation in a timely
manner.
During her fifteen years spent as in-house counsel at The Cadillac
Fairview Corporation Limited, Jeanne oversaw the negotiation of over 10,000
leases. As Vice President, Legal, from 1991 to 1996, she was responsible
for all aspects of lease negotiations for a portfolio of 54 owned and/or
managed shopping centres, comprising approximately 27.7 million square
feet, and 23 office buildings, comprising approximately 10.6 million
square feet.
Jeanne also practised from 1979 to 1981 as in-house counsel for Fidinam
(Canada) Limited, an international real estate investment consulting
firm, developer and manager, with offices in 14 countries on 5
continents.
Jeanne lectures and writes frequently on commercial leasing topics, is a member
of the Board of Directors of Toronto Commercial Real Estate
Women (Toronto CREW) and is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada. She
received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Toronto
(Trinity College) in 1974, graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1977
and was called to the Ontario bar in 1979.
