Francine
Baker-Sigal, Commercial Leasing
Francine is a leading lawyer in Canada in the area of commercial
leasing transactions. Following her call to the Ontario bar in 1983,
Francine practised law with a large Toronto law firm in the area of
real estate development, with particular emphasis on commercial
leasing transactions; her move to Daoust Vukovich in 1996 solidified
her reputation in this area of the law.
Since then, she continues to work in that area of law, and has also added building-related telecommunications transactions to her practice, acting on behalf of building owners opposite telecommunications service providers.
Francine is also directly
involved in her family real estate development and property
management enterprise, and as a result brings a solid
business-minded approach to her legal practice.
Francine has been a frequent contributor to numerous industry and
legal publications including Legal Update for the International
Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), The Shopping Centre Newsletter,
Legal Alert, and the Commercial Leasing Law and Strategy
publication. She has also been involved with many industry
conferences such as the ICSC Canadian Law Conference as Co-Chair and
as a speaker at seminars conducted by Insight Education Service,
Institute for International Research, Canadian Bar Association
(Ontario) and the Law Society of Upper Canada.
Francine is a member of the Canadian Bar Association (Ontario) and the Law Society of Upper Canada, and is a founding member of Toronto CREW (the Toronto Commercial Real Estate Women's association).
